MPEX screening technology boosts C&D waste recycling production

Time:2018-09-29

A company has boosted its recycling of construction and demolition materials by employing MPEX-1083 tracked inclined screen from MPEX Corporation. The advanced screening deck on the machine has increased production by over 30%, and enabled the company to continue recycling throughout the winter.

The company provides specialist concrete crushing and screening, processing of demolition waste, recycling, utilities contracting. The services provided include a specialism in a wide variety of waste disposal facilities for concrete, hard-core, tarmac, inert soils, non-hazardous and hazardous soils.

Their core business today is recycling. And they bring in various types of mixed C&D waste which they process by screening, crushing and washing to make various aggregates for resale and reuse. They operate a fully licensed transfer station with screening, crushing and soil washing facilities. Between its transfer station recycling facility and its quarry as well as other third party supply depots, the company is now able to supply a vast range of materials and aggregate for the construction industry delivered by its own fleet of tipper and grab trucks.

Recycling efficiency

At the center of the company’s recycling operation is a new MPEX-1083 inclined screen supplied by MPEX Corporation, which was purpose developed for large aggregate producers. Given the multi-facetted and hard wearing natures of the company’s business, with the production of large amount of high quality aggregate from demolition and construction waste, the MPEX-1083 is undoubtedly an ideal piece of equipment. A key attribute of the MPEX-1083 is its large, highly aggressive 19’x6’ screen box with its purpose developed screening media.

The media screen performs fantastic. One of the major differences is the effect it’s had on down-time. Because of the way it works, they don’t get broken wires, they don’t get broken mesh. The effect of broken wires and meshes on production efficiency can be a major cause of concern for a thriving business as the company. Because two hours lost (sorting out and replacing broken wires and meshes) out of day means losing a lot of money.

The ability of the MPEX-1083 to work throughout the year has also been a major factor in enhancing the company’s production. The media screens (on the MPEX-1083) have transformed how they could process through the winter. With their previous machine they’d basically come to a standstill, due to wet, cloggy material and they really couldn’t screen. Buying the MPEX machine meant that they are now able to take out the fine.
